Startplatz-Beschreibung
Pusty Hrad - Desert castle, altitude 560 meters Best direction of wind for comfortable takeoff is nord-west. Takeoff is actually possible by wind comming from the west to the nord direction. For start you have cca 30 meter long and 100 meter wide field with short grass and downhill grade cca 30°.
Anfahrt
Desert Castle is situated on the hill southeast from Zvolen. From railway station Zvolen you will take the direction south along the railway and then via the bridge through the river Hron. Follows steep ascending to the castle along with green tourist route. It is also possible to take a ride up to the takeoff place, but only with permition from police.
Wetter
No big weather hazards. A little bit of risk presents International and military Airport Sliač, witch is cca in 10 km distance and provides a lot of flying activities.
Regeln / Luftraum
You have to phone the Airport Sliač before you go to fly on Desert Castle.
Kommentare
Perfect place for all year long soaring over the takeoff place. Super conditions for thermals over the big railway station and train parking area, town buildings and asphalt streets in summer.
