Startplatz-Beschreibung

North East facing launch 4.5 kms by rough road above the village of Yuscaran, Honduras. Challenging, compact launch with fence. Its necessary to have 12-20km wind or cycles to launch easily. Approx 650 meters of free elevation with launch at 1450 mtrs above sea level. Dry season is late Feb-end of May with high cloud base and combination of mountain thermal and flatland flights. 60+kms flights to date. No one has ever flown a hanglider here but the launch looks suitable to me and the El Llano landing field is also suitable.

Anfahrt

If you are in Tegucigalpa (capital of Honduras) take the highway East in the direction of Danli. Turn South off the highway at approx 53kms from Teguc. 17kms from the junction is Yuscaran. The road goes directly up the mountain just before entering the town. When you get to the launch you will be able to see the 2 landing fields. El Llano out to the east over the flatlands and the football stadium directly below launch on the road leading south out of Yuscaran.

Wetter

Tropical conditions-no flight suits but it can over develop quickly in the rainy season. We often have windy conditions in Nov-Feb. Dry season is Feb-May=good flying. Avoid late day flights in rainey season except on clear days due to frequent thunderstorms.
