Vehicle parking & ingress to the Hammer Flat launch site is permitted via West Highland Valley Road only. Egress from the landing site at Hammer Flat will be via any reasonable direct route to West Highland Valley Road parking area that minimizes impact to vegetation and avoids proximity to the raptor nest site.

This site in in the Boise River Wilderness Management Area. It is available for free flight under a Special Use Permit from Idaho Fish & Game. Dates for access are 1 May to 15 November as long as the SUP has been granted for that calendar year. There is a sign board with map and rules in the parking lot at the end of West Highland Valley Road.
