Startplatz-Beschreibung

The area is small with small rocks and bushes. Impossible to takeoff with no wind.(there are trees at the end of takeoff) Is possible to fly from 10.30h-16.00h (April-October) and from 11.30-15.00 (November-Mars) This site is not for beginners !!! The place is tricky. Strangers must meet local pilots for advices!!! In general the flight is turbulent, so active flying is needed.

Anfahrt

Take the Power cable (Dajti Express) one way. To reach the power cable you will need to take the bus from the center of Tirana (place Scanderbeg) the bus which goes toward the East (Dajti mount) station called Kinostudio. From there you have to call a taxi and in 5 min you are at the power cable station. Once you are up in the mountain (15min trip in the power cable cabin) you have to exit the building and go left, again left toward west to the ridge of the mount. There is a military base with some antenas. Just take the path near the base and you are at the takeoff.

Wetter

Some times the thermals are really strong with turbulence. Above 700m and to the landing area the wind comes more from the north, so with a beginner glider is very hard to reach the point. Even at the takeoff, the wind changes from N to NW or W. This is not a good sign.

Regeln / Luftraum

Once above the hills in front of the mount, pay attentions because sometimes there are helicopters flying the path from S to N and vice versa.
