Startplatz-Beschreibung
This takeoff place is one of the first and most popular takeoffs for free flyers in Slovenia. It is known very well in Europe. Hanggliders like it, because you can drive up very close to this place. The gliding on Kovk is possible through all the year. The good winds are W,SW,S,SSE.
Anfahrt
From Ajdovscina we drive for the village Col. After the church we must drive to the left and after cca three kilometres we come to village Gozd. After few hundreds meters we turn sharply to the left. Then we must turn still two times to the left in cca one kilometre of good narrow road. We come to the houses, and after one on the left and two on the right, we find little parking. We have five hundreds meters of bad way to the starting place.
Regeln / Luftraum
The flying rules on the area of the Ajdovscina airport and the landing rules on this territory. The paragliding in this area has some limits because of closeness to the airport Ajdovscina. We must respect the agreement with local airport. As is evident on the picture in the red zone flying and landing is not allowed. In the yellow zone the paragliders must be attentive to sailing planes activities. The landing place is marked near pizzeria 'Anja' in the village Log (with big church), about 200 m from pizzeria to the west beside the main road. The emergency landing is allowed at the village Lokavec, which is at foothills of the mountain Caven on the northwest side of the airport Ajdovscina. Please, respect this restrictions in the purpose of safe flying and cooperative relations with the airport Ajdovscina. Thank you.
