Startplatz-Beschreibung
Large grassy area that rolls over into wildflowers. This is located just after 214 splits off of 11. More launch areas available off of 214 as it wraps around the basin. Explore!
Anfahrt
From Kremmling take HW 9 south then turn right onto Trough Road/1. Follow Trough Road to the Radium rec area and cross the river here towards the town of Radium. Shortly after crossing the train tracks take a right on 11 ad continue on this road, climbing steeply out of the river valley, until reaching 214 on the right. The launch will be just down 214 in the first large grassy area.
Wetter
Lee site. Watch for building W winds in the late morning and the standard afternoon OD. The Pumphouse LZ is across the valley and surrounded by larger terrain features. It may experience rotor with significant winds and is probably best left as a low/no wind LZ.
Regeln / Luftraum
Don't vandalize, trash, or burn the area. Otherwise it's BLM land and you can pretty much do what you want.

A beautiful launch into an open and arcing basin. This is a lee site so plan accordingly. Most of the land is State/BLM but there are private parcels throughout. Know where you are! I have flown this site twice, 1 sledder to Pumphouse, 1 small soaring flight to 114. I am adding it here if any pilots with more experience are interested in trying for more. (or if anyone is looking for a beautiful sledder in a new area)
