Take-off description
Take-off into the southerly facing bowl. There is a 5 minute walk to take off if you have a 4x4. Otherwise it is a 20 minute walk from the Connor Pass Car Park.
Getting there
Drive the road between Dingle and Tralee. At the Connor Pass car parking area there is an off road track across the road to the east. Follow up as far as possible. Next walk in a southerly direction, down the gulley and back up the other side. This is the take off area.
Weather
Sometimes the wind strength increases without warning. Watch for wind on the water out in Dingle Bay to the south. Site is sometimes affected by the westerly sea breeze.
Rules / airspace
Avoid Kerry Airport restricted airspace about 15km to the east.
Comments
Thermals come up along the gulleys in the bowl. Do not fly over the spine to the east, that stretches out to the south due to rotor, if low......go around the front of it.
