Take-off description
Take off from CHRIST's SEAT (the grassy knoll between the South peak (Hermitage) and the Monastery peak. NE-N-NW or SE (keep left of take off ONLY -see flight regulation)
Getting there
Hire a boat from Portmagee. It is a 12km trip out into the Atlantic Ocean to get to the island Also regular tour boats leave daily from Portmagee.

High winds from the Atlantic.
Rules / airspace
There is a Military NO-FLY ZONE beside the site. The Island of Skellig Michael marks the Northern corner of this NO-FLY ZONE. Do not fly in here. If flying from the SE side then please keep left of the take off ONLY.

This site is UNFLOWN (unless someone can advise of otherwise) This is an extremely dangerous site. (There is a great RISK OF DEATH) A Water rescue support boat should be waiting below in the event of going down into the water. Wear a LIFE JACKET when flying here. DO NOT attempt an XC from this site. Dont go over the back. This island is a bird sanctuary. The path to the take off is dangerous and exposed.
