Take-off description
A simple, very forgiving launch site.
Getting there
Best with 4 x 4, especially for recovery. 30 minutes from Tbilisi.
Weather
Occasionally, wind speeds increase very rapidly. Speed bar is essential when soaring, and if the wind is pretty strong don't stay above the ridgeline, but move forward instead. Check wind speed from airport radio at 132.800.

Generally, this is primarily a beginner's hill, but it can be nice for a weekend outing. If the wind speed is right (20-25 kph, or between 10 and 13 kn reported from the airport), this can be great for hours of soaring. Occasionally, there is also good thermal activity. Maximum distance flown from here is about 20 km, towards the Azerbaijan border.
