Take-off description
Takeoff is located atop Sandia Peak and accessable via the Sandia Peak Tramway. Launch is very narrow and steep with little room for error. 2018: greatly improved.

Summer brings strong thermal activity and potential for thunderstorms and associated turbulence and gust fronts.

Rated P-4 with mountain and thermal experience. Guide Pilot required for access. Contact the local club for a list of Guide Pilots Membership in SSA required! temporary memberships available for $15.00
