Take-off description
Takeoff is from the base of a 25 foot ridge, winds from 12-16 mph are required to fly here and its illegal to touch the dunes or protected vegitation so flawless high wind ground handling skills are a must. P-3 or better skills required to manage the launch...weve never seen a p-2 fly here yet on their first try. A .5 mile hike with gear is required to get from the legal parking to the best launch.
Getting there
The site is extremely sensitive, we ask that you contact by email to skybrake@aol.com if you plan to be in the melbourne area for some time so we can show you the ropes and the site.
Weather
gust lines from the water, or winds over 16mph can be treacherous, also blowbacks are a distinct possibility on cross days.
Rules / airspace
P-3 reccomended but not required.
