Take-off description

GPS: 13°52'40.56'N; 89°31'3.48'W Elevation : 1004 m Orientation: Southwest This takeoff is managed by “Los Zopilotos”, your local flying club. All “Zopilotos” can fly without restrictions. Technical and small take off. Excellent rigde soaring site, spectacular views of the crater lake Coatepeque, an ancient volcano the erupted thousands of years ago. Expect to get a lot of flying time and be carefull when the wind is too strong, it makes it tough to come down. The vehicle drives to the takeoff and pilot recovery is easy as well. Season Nov - Aug

Getting there

If you are in San Salvador, take the panamerican highway west, toward Santa Ana City. You turn left at El Congo, towards Coatepeque Lake. Instead of driving down the lake on the main road, you take another inmediate left onto the road that circles the lake, towards Sonsonate. You drive up the road about 5 minutes, the property is located on your right hand side about 100mts before Nantal, a restaurant that no longer operates. Total driving time from SS is around 45 minutes.
