Take-off description
Main launch sites: -'Eggli' (1650m): about 200 meters to the SE of the top of the cable car; - 'Hoernli' (1800m): on top of the mountain about 20 Minutes uphill. Both sites are easy and large enough for many pilots. HG's use 'Eggli' Alternative launches: -'Mast 4' preferred by HG, as easily reached by car -'Plandadein' -outside vegetation period only!!! (turns on only in the (late) afternoon)
Getting there
>> ATTN: 12.1.- 13.3.2026 CLOSED for maintenance !! << !!From Zürich in direction of Chur, turn off in Landquart in direction Klosters/Davos; via Grüsch to Fanas (limited parking space only!!). Weather
Not recommended when wind is strong NW to NE. Do not fly when 'Föhn' is blowing or predicted. 'Föhn' is a strong, turbulent (south-)wind over the Alps due to large pressure differential between south and north side of Alps. On good days very busy, space on the gondola must be previously reserved - especially for parties > 2 pilots! (+41 81 325 1939)
