Take-off description
Expanded launch area along forest road at top of clearcut/burn area. Requires flat slope launch skills. See http://rvhpa.org/site-guide/whaleback/
Getting there
Combination of paved and dirt roads. Passable by 2WD passenger cars when dry. Road is snowed in from November until May or June of most years, early to mid-July in snowy years.

Rules / airspace
Klamath Falls airport controlled airspace is to the north on northerly XC route. No landing in Lava Beds National Monument (on XC route to NE).
