Take-off description
Large airfield. Works under all wind directions. Parking on the side of the airfield where you see other cars parked and where winch operator instructs. Site is mainly operated by Arcus flying school (www.paragliding.lt) with stationary winches. Expect tow heights up to 300m in nil winds and over 500m in stronger winds. Pilots are expected to have tow release device.
Getting there
Site is right next to A4 road.
Weather
Site is used if wind is up to 6m/s.
Rules / airspace
If gliding airspace is not activated flying is permitted up to 900m. Gliding airspace is usually activated during good weather, check with winch operator to verify. Radio frequency 445.100Mhz.
Comments
This site is very popular in season with Arcus students, pilots, tandem passengers. Sometimes they operate 2 stationary winches simultaneously. Weekend camping is possible at the airfield. XC is good under E, NE winds. Other wind directions make XC limited by airspace and boarder with Belarus.
