Take-off description

Easy slope with 45 degree angle with south wind, very easy to take off, maximum two wings prepared but just one takes off.

Getting there

From Mexico City to Toluca, then take the highway to Ixtapan de la Sal' before reaching the small town of Tenancingo take the exit to Chalma and 15 minutes ahead passing the 'Golf Club' is the detour to 'San Simón el Alto' climb the mountain and as soon as you reach the town take the detour to the communications antennas to the right, and in 10 minutes you reach the top hill, park the car and walk approximately 100 meters and there you are.

Weather

January to May, as in most site in Mexico at midday, from 11.30 am wind conditions can get very strong and is safe to fly after 3 or 4 pm

Rules / airspace

Complete equipment in good conditions, wing, harness, reserve, boots and helmet are compulsory, we are trying to get all pilots voluntary into regulations and certification as there isn't any goverment ones, the owners reserve the right to cancel all flights if the conditions are dangerous or the pilot is not qualified or has the right equipment.

Comments

With 450 meters above the landing place and 3 thermals working in front of the starting place is easy to make a good flight, just be careful in the non-rainy season from February to May can get very strong after 11.30 am, it becomes flyable after 3 or 4 pm until 7, in the rest of the year you practically fly at any hour. ----> OziExplorer & ThermoCompass maps of this: http://thermocompass.500mb.net/map.htm
