Take-off description
This is a very steep but smooth roll-off launch suitable for novice pilots with excellent wing control. The LZ is directly below take-off.
Getting there
From I-40 in Russellville, Arkansas, take exit 81 and travel north on state hwy 7 to Dover (7 miles). Turn left on hwy 7/164 and travel 5.5 miles. Turn left on hwy 164 and travel 3.5 miles. Turn right on Long Pool Road. Travel 2.7 miles and turn right onto dirt road (note: you passed the LZ at the 2.2 mile mark.) Follow the dirt road to launch.
Comments
Be certain that you stop and view the LZ. The highline wires are not visible from launch! The dirt road to launch can be driven in a two-wheel drive vehicle with ground clearance equal to an normal pickup truck. If the road is muddy, a four-wheel drive is required. Also, the dirt road can be a tricky route, so best to have a local pilot with you. the road to launch has bushes and tree limbs that WILL scratch your vehicle paint, without a doubt!
