There are three takeoff spots. One has to be ready to trek up to reach the takeoff locations. The trek is through forest which does not have much visible trails so you will need a local guide for the first time. The takeoff spots are big and safe for anyone with over 50 flights experience.

Getting there

The location explored is about 2kms from Kelve road railway station with motorable road till the base of the landing zone. The village at base is Zanzroli which has a dam by the same name.

Weather

Flying in weak winds will be a bit of a challenge for inexperienced pilots - specially landing.

Rules / airspace

None as of now. except that one has to inform the local police about your intentions of flying in the region.

Comments

The entire ridge is oriented to WNW wind direction. It is over 15 kms long and the height varies between 300 to 1500 feet above sea level. This ridge is about 9kms from the Arabian sea. Though mostly forested there are many spots on this ridge at about 500 to 900 feet which provide good open spaces for takeoff and to top land and many spots with barren cliffs along the ridge which provides lift. There are multiple landing spots at the base and further ahead. There are villages and roads along this ridge.
