Take-off description
Follow the tarmac road up to the Satellite domes. There are no marked launch areas. Large tufts of grass everywhere. Find a suitable place to launch facing into the wind. Site takes NE, SE, W-NW only.
Getting there
The gate at the bottom is on the north side of Mt.Gabriel. The gate at the bottom of the road going up the mountain has a sign which reads 'Irish Aviation Authority' (due to the Radar installations at the top) Note: The co-ordinates given for the Northeast landing area are the same as for the entrance gate.
Weather
Beware strong winds at the top.......and winds increasing rapidly....at any time.
Comments
This place is normally VERY WINDY.... much stronger than whatever is forecasted.
