Take-off description
Launch area is a little scruffy, steep, and restricted in size. No overrun, due trees immediately below launch - requires enough wind to lift you off your feet and a firm run or you will be treed right on the edge of the cliff! Zero-wind launches are out of the question. Minimum wind 10km/hr approx, or at pilots' discretion.
Getting there
You need two vehicles for this site, as it's a substantial walk back to the top, and top-landings at the carpark are too dangerous.
Weather
The LZ next to the marae can be turbulent.
Rules / airspace
This site is below the Instrument Approach to NZWK RWY 27. Maintain 1000ft vertical and 1 NM horizontal separation from cloud. Maintain a good outlook for traffic when above 1000FT.
Comments
Absolutely NO DOGS. This is a KIWI ZONE.
