Weather suitable for soaring is very limited. Even the weather forecasts don't accurately predict flying weather. Many touring PG'ers come to the site but leave shortly after arriving. The local guys who drive to the site are right about 60% of the time. Best to have business in Cleveland and likely to stick around a week.

Normativa / espacio aéreo

Please make sure to contact a local pilot before flying this site. It can be a horrible place to fly in the wrong conditions. Hang Gliders have been flying here since the 70's, although no hang glider has flown here in years, it is a very hard site to fly in a fixed wing. The Park Service has given the local pilots permission to fly BUT that permission can easily be taken away. You must have a flight intro from a local pilot before flying at Edgewater.
