The best and most beautiful take-off on Madeira concerning XC-flights, altitude gain, Acro, SIV, around 300 days per year good flying conditions perfect gras ramp, all pg-flight-records on the south side of Madeira were flown from here, no high voltage cables, no trees, and wide wind range to take off without obstacles and no cloudbase below, easy toplanding, a dream for pilots!

Exit Arco da Calheta from the Express Way between Madalena do Mar and Calheta, up the mountain towards the view point and bar/restaurant Costa Verde (always open from 10.30h-24.00h), big parking place

Meteo

sometimes in wintertime and low pressure (<1015hPa) CBs and thunderstorms can appear, and in strong NE-wind conditions at around sunset time the back wind can appear from down the mountains
