Description du décollage
the mountains are covered with short flowering grass. Ask the farmers permission before take off, or take off from the road.
Accès
Up the Hwa Dong Valley by train from anywhere in Taiwan. Get a taxi. Fly around awhile, land at the train station, pack your shit and get on the train. This is one of my faves. There are additional train and bus stations all up and down the valley. Bring a map, so you can choose your landing and save yourself a walk. OTOH, the local people are so friendly, (or bored) they will pick up a hitchhiker with a pg kit and chat and maybe take you to lunch/dinner. Please be polite and respectful so that we can continue to enjoy their hospitality.

summer thunder showers. Winds on the take off are often not as strong as in the deep valley.
